It was Alliance & Leicester International but now the Manx-based arm of Santander is rebranding.
On Friday, the company sent out letters to its customers telling them from now on the company will be known simply as Santander.
The changes, which take effect in May, will see Santander UK buy the Isle of Man business, meaning Alliance and Leicester on Prospect Hill in Douglas will become a branch of the UK firm rather than a wholly-owned subsidiary.
However, it’ll continue to be licensed in the Island – and fall under the Manx government’s depositors' compensation scheme.
Alliance & Leicester was bought by Spain's Santander Group in 2008.
