More Information (Manx Radio is not responsible for external websites)

Castletown Heritage are pleased to host Trevor Gibbs, an Isle of Man Blue Badge Guide, who is going to talk about Sir William Hillary. In Trevor's view he is something of a forgotten hero, being responsible for establishing what became the RNLI, an organisation that saved countless lives over its 200 year history, as well as this, among other things he was equerry to the son of George III, a military commander and philanthropist, responsible for the building of the Tower of Refuge and the Smelt Monument in Castletown. Stay after for coffee or tea, biscuits and a chat.
