Rugby: Douglas out to end year with win at Liverpool St Helens

Manx side eyeing potential points against league strugglers

Report by Dave Christian:

This weekend sees the last of three crucial games for Douglas in Regional 2 North West. Their Christmas run-in featured games against the bottom three sides in the table. They won the first, the second was postponed and they travel to Liverpool St Helens this week for the third.

The two sides have met on seven previous occasions with the Liverpool side ahead 5-2 on wins. Their last meeting was at Port-e-Chee in September where they won 17-21.

Since then though results have generally gone against them and they have 2 wins from 11 and some proper big scores against them too - statistically they have the leakiest defence in the division.

Douglas appear to have a strong squad travelling too - all of their big guns appear to be fit and available and they have an excellent chance to take the points with their nearest rivals all facing top-five opposition.
