Reeves' TT in doubt

Sidecar ace Tim Reeves may not take part in this year’s TT after one of his main sponsors withdrew their support for the 2010 road racing season.

The triple World Sidecar champion, who finished in an impressive third place on his Mountain Course debut in 2008, was due to contest the two Formula Two sidecar races with new passenger Dan Sayle.

The duo had also planned to switch to Honda as they aim to get ahead of main rivals Dave Molyneux, John Holden and Simon Neary.

However, the loss of sponsorship now means Reeves is facing a spell on the sidelines and unable to run his F2 outfit unless a new sponsor can be found.

Reeves said: ‘Coming in to my third year at the TT the only thing on my mind was winning and, with support from Honda, everything was looking rosy but I now find myself facing the prospect of missing the races altogether.

‘I'm only interested in going there to win but to upgrade the F2 outift and run it again this season is going to cost something in the region of £15,000 so unless that can be found I won't be on the Island in June.

‘I'm desperate to put the last two years of experience and knowledge into good practice and get a TT win so I hope someone can come onboard soon and help us make that dream a reality.’
