FC Isle of Man hoping to replicate win over opponents last month

FC Isle of Man face a tough task this weekend as they travel to face NWCFL Premier Division high-flying Wythenshawe FC tomorrow afternoon (28 October).

Victory last weekend means the Ravens sit 13th in the table and could move as high as ninth with a win which would depend on other results around them as well.

Despite the lofty position of their latest opponents - who're currently second in the standings - the Manx side could be encouraged by the fact they beat Wythenshawe on home soil last month.

FC Isle of Man boss Paul Jones believes his side is in a good place to potentially upset the odds again:

That narrow win over Wythenshawe FC on 30 September is one of three wins FC Isle of Man have taken in their last four outings.

Among the notable displays for the Island outfit, striker Sean Doyle has begun to recapture form in front of goal, netting four goals in his last three appearances.

However, the Ravens are continuing to search for some more long-term consistency - their wins over Wythenshawe FC (30 September) and Burscough (7 October) are the only time they've managed back-to-back wins since late August.

Elsewhere, Wythenshawe FC - since that defeat at the hands of FC Isle of Man just under a month ago - have responded emphatically winning all four of their following matches up to now.

The Manchester-based side are four points behind league leaders Bury but Wythenshawe currently have three games in hand on the side at the top.

Despite the 12-point gap between themselves and FC Isle of Man in the table, Wythenshawe FC are still yet to beat the Manx side after four attempts so far, with one draw and three losses against FC Isle of Man since their first meeting back in August 2021.

Wythenshawe FC vs FC Isle of Man will take place at Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium this Saturday, 28 October, kicking-off at 2pm.
