Payne & Rousseau prepare for sidecar world championship finale

Birchall brothers remain in contention for the title

Manx sidecar competitor Harry Payne and his passenger Kevin Rousseau are getting set for the finale of the FIM Sidecar World Championship this weekend.

The Steinhausen Racing duo are heading to Portugal for the seventh and final round at the Autodromo do Estoril being held across Saturday and Sunday (28-29 October).

The first day will see competitors take part in free practice and qualifying before a 10-lap sprint race and 17-lap main race take place on Sunday.

Payne and Rousseau currently sit fifth in the standings on 150 points going into this round, just one point off the pairing of Sam and Tom Christie in fourth.

Manxman Payne won his first GP at the same circuit in 2022 in the wet, and ahead of this weekend he says he's hoping for damp conditions this time.

He's also thanking all those who've supported the team throughout the campaign to date.

Elsewhere, current Sidecar TT champions, Ben and Tom Birchall, remain locked in an exciting final battle for the championship itself.

The Mansfield duo are second in the table and only 22 points off current leaders Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement - the Birchalls currently have three titles to their name.
