Cycling: CC IoM heading to BikeStow 3-Day event

Five Manx riders taking part in UK contest from today (23 June)

A five-strong lineup will represent Cycling Club Isle of Man which is returning to competitive action this evening.

The Manx squad will take part in the BikeStow 3-Day with four stages to the contest starting tonight (23 June) in Ellerdine, Shropshire and finishing near Presteigne in Wales on Sunday.

Niall Quiggin, Corrin Leeming, Mark Hortshuis, Jamie Fletcher and Michael Faid make up the Island team - all of whom competed at this year's Ras Tailteann in Ireland last month.

More recently, Quiggin and Fletcher also took part in the Steven Jones Memorial competition with both securing top-ten finishes there.

Tonight's opening stage of the BikeStow 3-Day will see competitors take on a relatively flat 30-mile route.

Tomorrow sees two events - a 1.7km time trial in Cookhill, Worcestershire, in the morning before a 52-mile circuit race near the same area in the afternoon.

The event then concludes on Sunday (25 June) with a 64-mile road race crossing the border into Wales.
