Cycling: Bostock and Walker take podiums at national championships

Event concluded with road races in Redcar and Cleveland yesterday (25 June)

Two Manx cyclists managed to secure podium finishes during the last two events of the 2023 British National Road Championships at the weekend.

Matt Bostock took second place in the elite men's circuit race on Friday evening (23 June), beaten only by Ollie Wood with Tim Shoreman taking bronze.

Meanwhile, fellow Island athlete Max Walker took his second top-three finish of the event on Sunday (25 June) by finishing third in the Under-23 men's road race.

It comes after the Trinity Racing rider also claimed second spot in the Under-23 men's time trial event last Wednedsay (21 June).

Elsewhere in Sunday's road races the 2023 British National Time Trial Champion, Manx competitor Lizzie Holden, finished eighth.

There were a series of Manx competitors who took part in the championships from 21-25 June with Jessie Carridge, Tom Mazzone, Leon Mazzone, Zac Walker, Sam Brand, Ben Swift and Island resident, Chris Lawless.
