Corinthians battle through for Colby clash

Postponements and abandoned matches elsewhere

Corinthians beat the weather and a battling Ramsey Youth Centre 4-2 to make it through to the ECAP FA Cup quarter-finals and a tie away to Colby.

Stephen Whitley was on target twice for Corinthians in the blustery conditions.

The big game in the Canada Life Premier League between Peel and St Mary's was abandoned in the second half after 68 minutes with the severe gale force winds making the game a farce.

The score was 1-1 at the time.

The Combination Two clash between Union Mills and Ramsey Youth Centre was also abandoned as the weather closed in after half-time.

The only other top flight game to survive saw Douglas Royal beat Douglas Athletic 4-0 at Ballafletcher.

One Division Two game was played but switched to Station Fields where Colby beat Douglas & District 7-0 with Carl Hickey on target with five of the goals.
