Pair will spend nine weeks studying seal pup population
A charity is looking for two volunteers to spend nine weeks this Autumn surveying seals on and around the Calf of Man.
The Manx Wildlife Trust hopes the survey will lead to a better understanding of the Manx seal population.
Based at the bird observatory on the Island, the volunteers will count the number of seal pup births, photograph each pup with its mother, record the development of the animals and monitor mortality rates.
The Manx Wildlife Trust says experience of photo IDing seals would be preferable, but it can offer training.
Volunteers will spend nine weeks based on the Calf, followed by two weeks analysing the data at any location.
Accommodation and a food allowance of £40 per week will be provided.
