Updated business case for PSM High Street to go to Treasury 

DoI says road has 'structurally failed'

​Updated business cases will be presented to Treasury in a bid to gain funding to reconstruct Port St Mary High Street.

The infrastructure minister says the road has ‘structurally failed’ and requires a standalone budget in order to be reconstructed.

Tim Crookall told Tynwald this month existing money set aside for the project is for ‘preventative maintenance’ in order to preserve the highway in its current state.

Business cases submitted to Treasury in August last year were rejected – he’s hopeful the new documents will be resubmitted in the next week.

Mr Crookall says his department has come up with ‘layout options’ but adds more work is needed before there will be any progression on the site:
