UNISON celebrating 50 years of campaigning for LGBTQ+ rights

A union celebrating 50 years of campaigning for LGBTQ+ inclusion says it's 'really proud' of its work on the Isle of Man.

UNISON will mark the anniversary by spending 2024 focussing on equality in the workplace.

In 1983, the organisation - then known as NALGO - held its annual conference in Douglas when homosexuality was illegal on the Isle of Man.

With decriminalisation following, in 1991, UNISON's National Officer for LGBTQ+ Mitch Coe says progress should be celebrated:
