Treasury needs £14m from NI to balance pension increase

Minister continues pledge to mirror triple lock

The treasury minister says his department needs about £14 million from National Insurance contributions to ensure it can assist pensioners in their retirement. 

This week UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt released his Autumn Statement increasing the full state pension there by 8.5 percent.

Here Alex Allinson has reiterated his pledge to mirror the UK Government's approach to the pension triple lock.
