Section of Peel Road closed after roof comes off Brown Bobby petrol station

Strong winds from Storm Isha have seen roads closed and trees down around the Island overnight.

Peel Road in Douglas is closed from Belmont Hill to Circular Road after the roof of the Brown Bobby petrol station began to lift off throwing debris onto the road.

A barn in Kirk Michael also lost its roof, as too did a kiosk on Douglas promenade.

Meanwhile, Clay Head Road and Narrowdale Road are both closed due to fallen trees.

As of 6:45am police say there is a tree down blocking Phildraw Road and Tosaby Road.

The Mountain Road is open, however police say it's not suitable for high sided vehicles at this time.

Isle of Man Transport says some bus services will be delayed by the Peel Road diversion:

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says the roads are still affected with lots of debris on them. Motorists are asked to be mindful this morning and drive to the conditions.
