Crew issued 'gentle reminder' to turn on the vessel's radio and navigation lights
The crew of a fishing boat have been issued with a 'gentle reminder' to turn on the vessel's radio and navigation lights by the RNLI.
The team from Port Erin was called out at 9:48pm on Monday evening (27 November) after an alert from a police officer, who reported seeing a boat seemingly drifting towards the rocks on the north side of the bay.
Port Erin RNLI's duty Launching Authority, François Laisney, accepted the tasking request from Belfast Coastguard to investigate the vessel and ensure all persons on board were safe and well.
The Coastguard was also informed of the situation, should land-based assistance have been required.
The four-person crew on board Port Erin's B-813 inshore lifeboat, helmed by Tony Mitchell, set off to investigate the vessel and soon discovered there was no immediate danger and the three crew on board were all safe and well.
After a quick chat with the skipper and a 'gentle reminder' to turn on the vessel's radio and navigation lights - the crew headed back to the boathouse at 22:19.
