Remand for Douglas man who punched mother in face

26-year-old also spat at police sergeant

A Douglas man will be sentenced next month after admitting punching his mother repeatedly in the face.

Aaron Lee Barnett, of Peel Road, assaulted her at their home on 16 July.

The next day, whilst at Police Headquarters, he spat at a sergeant twice.

The 26-year-old admitted assaulting her, and the police officer, during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.

A social enquiry report has been requested before he’s sentenced on 22 August; an application for bail was refused and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.
