Re-running process to find someone to replace outgoing sub-postmaster
The future of postal services in Port Erin is still unclear.
The Isle of Man Post Office is repeating its efforts to find someone to provide counter, postal and bill payment provision and/or parcel collection.
The current sub-postmaster is terminating his contract at the end of March 2024 after 19 years.
People interested in taking over the service, which currently operates from Church Road, were invited to apply in April this year but the post office is now re-running the tender process.
A single supplier is preferred but submissions will be considered from parties that could provide one or more of the services.
It’s a one-year contract – until March 2025 – with the option to extend one year.
Chairman Stu Peters said: “By starting the expression of interest now it will allow us to adhere to the required procurement protocol and reduce the risk of any break in service for Port Erin residents.”
The new closing date for expressions of interest is Friday, 24 November.
