Government's confirmed date of pushed-back plans
Applications for new buildings and extensions with fossil fuel heating systems will be rejected from next year.
Instead, they'll need to be low-carbon.
The rule was due to come into force last week, but has been pushed back to 1 January - a move government says is to 'ensure the public are prepared' for the change.
It's said to help towards the Island's push to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The change is in preparation for the legal ban of installing fossil fuel heating systems in new buildings and extensions, including where planning permission or building control has already been granted.
Around 200 new homes are built in the Isle of Man each year.
