An immediate ban on the importation of livestock on the Isle of Man has been welcomed by the general secretary of the Manx National Farmers Union.

Sarah Comish says the move introduced by government this morning is the right one.

It's after five confirmed cases of the disease Bluetongue was found in Canterbury in Kent. 

Bluetongue can reduce milk production and cause infertility in some farm animals, but does not affect humans or food safety.
