'Minor' coastal overtopping expected as forecasters issue yellow warning

The warning remains in place for 15-hours

A yellow weather warning has been issued for coastal overtopping.

Ronaldsway Met Office is predicting fresh to strong southeast winds with minor overtopping from 9pm this evening (27 October) until 2pm tomorrow.

Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades are believed to be most at risk.

Forecasters also say there is a 'small risk' of inner harbour flooding affecting the Tongue in Douglas.

The organisation also recommends Castletown flood defences be deployed as a precautionary measure.
