Claire Christian has left her departmental role after three-and-a-half years.
An MHK has resigned from her position within the Department of Education, Sport and Culture citing concern over policy direction and funding decisions made by those 'outside of the department'.
Claire Christian - of Douglas South - says she's proud of various initiatives she's seen developed over the past three-and-a-half years.
However, she says recent events - including the criticism levelled at former minister Julie Edge, and the department, over the situation with the Southern Pool and the perceived interference by other senior ministers - have led her to make the 'difficult decision'.
It comes just a week after Ms Edge was replaced in her role as minister by Garff MHK Daphne Caine.
Mrs Christian remains chair of the Economic Policy Review Committee, and member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Standing Order Committee of Tynwald and the House of Keys.
"I want to express my gratitude for the opportunities and experiences I have had during my time at DESC, and to those I have had the pleasure to work with. I believe it is now in the best interest of both myself and the department to part ways."
