Part of Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act
People working with children on the Isle of Man will be required to report suspicions of sexual abuse by law.
The Department of Home Affairs says mandatory reporting requirements are being brought in as part of the Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act.
This will cover a range of regulated professions including health care, social work and teaching – the act is expected to take effect at the end of this year.
The UK home secretary has set out new requirements for people working with children in England saying those who fail to report should ‘face the full force of the law’.
