Legislation to restrict large commercial vehicles and motorhomes parking in residental areas could come into force next year

DOI has been consulting local authorities

The infrastructure minister says local authorities can start giving their opinions on large commercial vehicles and motorhomes parking in residential areas. 

Large vehicles taking up spaces in residential areas have been a concern for a while.

Last year Manx Radio spoke to these residents in Pulrose about how the issue was affecting them:

It's something the Department of Infrastructure has been working on since last Autumn.

Minister Chris Thomas told Manx Radio the process of consulting local authorities about where to introduce such restrictions and how, has already begun:

Parking issues are also on the mind of one Douglas North MHK.
