Late night flights not an option due to concerns over noise pollution

And airport director says there's no budget to extend past 11pm

There’s no budget to extend the Isle of Man Airport’s opening times.

That’s from the airport director who says remaining operational past 11pm is not something that can be considered.

The airport normally closes at 8.45pm but this can be extended to 9.30pm - anything after this time is 'best endeavors'.

Gary Cobb says it’s a ‘fine balance’ to try and resolve the issue with easyJet flights from Gatwick repeatedly coming in late and requiring extensions to the normal schedule.  

But he told Manx Radio lack of money is not the only reason he wouldn’t consider it:
