Island nurses 'exhausted' because health service is 'drastically understaffed'

Members from the Royal College of Nursing call for fair pay and safe staffing

Manx Care is 'drastically understaffed' and medical professionals are being asked to deliver more for less pay.

They're some of the concerns which have been raised by members and supporters of the Royal College of Nursing.

Yesterday (18 July) they marched through Douglas as part of a peaceful demonstration which included a visit to the Tynwald building. 

Nurses, who belong to the Royal College of Nursing, will stage a 12-hour walkout next Tuesday.

It's a problem now in the hands of Manx Care and Health and Social Care Minister Lawrie Hooper who says he can't ‘snap his fingers’ and ask Treasury for more money to pay nursing staff:
