Northern Lighthouse Board has contingency plans in place

The Northern Lighthouse Board says contingency plans will again be in place should there be further strike action by its workers.

The organisation, which maintains the Isle of Man's lighthouses, has been hit by 2 walkouts in the past 4 weeks.

Staff have rejected a 2% pay offer amid the ongoing dispute.

In a statement the Northern Lighthouse Board says while they sympathise with the cost-of-living crisis their workers face they are bound entirely by UK Government pay policy.

They add that measures are in place to ensure mariners are provided with an effective safety of navigation service while any action is underway.
