Health Minister says scheme is managed in the UK
The Island's health authorities don't know how many Manx residents have applied for vaccine injury compensation.
Health Minister Lawrie Hooper has confirmed his department, Public Health and Manx Care do not hold or have access to information on the number of vaccine damage claims, as it's managed directly by the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme in the UK.
Responding to a Tynwald written question from Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson, Mr Hooper added Manx Care is not aware of anyone on the Island who has received support to apply to the scheme.
Those who do require advice on vaccine injury are urged to contact their GP in the first instance, and may be referred to the Long Covid clinic.
Earlier this year, Manx Care confirmed it was assessing the need for a vaccine injury service, while a petition on the issue was presented by members of the public on Tynwald Day.
