Gov't ministers to face backbenchers in first House of Keys sitting of the year

Just two MHKs have tabled questions to members of the Council of Ministers

The situation at the Southern Swimming Pool is expected to start the first House of Keys sitting of the year.

It's the first of six questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew's Jason Moorhouse.

He also will ask how a figure was arrived at with regard to public sector rent increases, progression of Daniel's Law and organ donation, and whether a funding bid for the Castletown Nautical Museum has been submitted.

Patrick Commissioners - or lack of - features too, after three temporary board members were installed by the Cabinet Office after the local authority saw a string of resignations over alleged wrongdoing.

'Commissioner X', as he's referred to in the report, was found to have carried out work he wasn't authorised to do, and on his own terms by the Tynwald Commissioner.

Mr Moorhouse wants to know what criteria was used to select the temporary members.

Meanwhile, Douglas North MHK David Ashford tables four questions ranging from provision for shingles treatment, and the number of people in dispute over their energy bills to if there's a recorded increase in the number of people whom don't qualify, using disabled parking bays.

The Legislative Council is not in session today.

Manx Radio will be broadcasting the proceedings live on DAB, AM 1368 and online from 10am.
