Friends aim to raise awareness and funds for muscular dystrophy 

It's in support of their friend, Michael 

A group of friends will take on the Great North Run this weekend with the aim of raising funds for, and awareness about, muscular dystrophy. 

The group from the Isle of Man is doing it in support of Michael Eaton, who was diagnosed with the bone weakening disease in childhood. 

So far they've raised £1,768 for Muscular Dystrophy UK - a charity that funds research into treatments for the rare, life-limiting muscle-wasting condition.
