Foster carers at four year low, according to data from health body

Manx Care hopes for more foster carers to address shortage

​The health service has re-issued pleas for more families or individuals to consider fostering, as data obtained from Manx Care shows fostering on the Isle of Man is at a four-year low.

The health body believes increasing the amount of carers by six per year should address the shortage.

Currently, 27 children are cared for by 26 carers, but we're told there are others staying in residential homes who would benefit from a home setting.
