Former chief constable joins Cruse Bereavement Care Isle of Man

Gary Roberts takes up role as safeguarding lead

The former chief constable says he will use his 39-years of experience to help people who are potentially at risk.

Gary Roberts has joined the board of Cruse Bereavement Care Isle of Man as a director and safeguarding lead.

He retired from the Isle of Man Constabulary earlier this year.

Mr Roberts said: "I have always admired the work Cruse do and was delighted to be asked to get involved with them.

"I know the difference they can make and look forward to working with them.

"I realise the impact a death can have on individuals and families, particularly a suicide, so to be working as part of this charity is important to me."

Mr Roberts says he’ll be able to utilise his previous role to help those in need – something chief executive Mary Doyle has welcomed:
