DESC minister says department is now at design stage
Work on a new secondary school in Castletown has to be ‘managed right’.
That’s from the education, sport and culture minister who says her department is now at the design stage of the capital project.
In 2021 the Castle Rushen High School site was deemed ‘increasingly not fit for purpose’ and a ‘below par’ environment for students; money for its replacement was first set aside in 2016.
The design stage is expected to take 106 weeks to complete with Tynwald approval for the designs due to take place in 2026.
