DEFA to look into demand for wheelchair accessible taxis

No information held for past five years

There is a 'piece of work that needs to be done' to establish the demand for wheelchair accessible taxis on the Isle of Man.

That's according to the environment, food and agriculture minister who has committed her department to undertaking that work.

In Tynwald this week Douglas North MHK David Ashford asked whether the need for accessible taxis has increased or decreased over the last five years - information Clare Barber admitted is not held by the Road Transport Licensing Committee.

She said the last survey was undertaken and published in 2006 and times have changed since then:
