Commissioners defer discussions around demolition of Castletown Golf Links Hotel

Follows rejection of appeal against planning proposal to redevelop the site

Discussions surrounding the Castletown Golf Links Hotel are being deferred to a private meeting.

Malew Commissioners were expected to debate the idea of possible demolition of the derelict building, but the authority says a policy will need to be created to move forward.

However, Commissioners labelled the project a 'big subject'.

It follows a failed appeal against a planning decision which blocked Dandara from building flats and a small hotel on the landmark Derbyhaven site.

Dandara has labelled the outcome as 'disappointing' but says it looks forward to producing a re-designed scheme to address concerns raised by the inspector.
