Chickens on the loose in Laxey

Commissioners warning people it's a criminal offence to abandon them

There are fears chickens are being abandoned in Laxey, which has prompted Garff Commissioners to issue a reminder that it's a criminal offence to do so.

Poultry on the loose was a topic of discussion at the authority's meeting last night.

It's understood residents in the Glen Roy area have been feeding the birds out of their own goodwill.

Commissioner Mel Christian says she's not sure why they're being discarded.
