More than 60,000 litres of water used to bring 1km fire under control
Thirty firefighters spent six hours tackling a wild fire in Greeba yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called out at around 3pm to deal with a controlled burn that was no longer under control.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service needed firefighters from three stations to tackle the 1km fire, along with more than 60,000 litres of water.

The fire service says this incident tied up resources for six hours, as well as putting extra pressure on the Emergency Services Joint Control Room, which co-ordinated the response.
As a result, it's urging anyone considering a burn off to do it outside summer months.
It comes following a warning from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture about the heightened risk of wild fires due to the recent spell of dry weather.
