Proposed regeneration of brownfield site welcomed by Councillor and MHK

But they raise concerns 'Westmoreland Village' has insufficient parking provision

The proposed regeneration of a brownfield site close to the centre of Douglas has been welcomed by one of the area's Borough Councillors and a local MHK.

But Councillor Stephen Pitts and Douglas Central MHK, Ann Corlett both have concerns that the village style development won't include sufficient parking provision.

The proposed scheme is devised around the so-called '20 minute neighbourhood concept', in which residents everyday needs can be met locally within a 10 minute return journey from home by walking, cycling of via local public transport.

Councillor Pitts says it would be wrong to expect people not to want their own vehicles:
