Richard Henthorn

Richard is standing as an independent candidate in Garff.

He is currently chair of Garff commissioners and has been involved in business, the community and volunteer groups in the constituency for more than 30 years.

This will be his first time standing in a General Election.

He has four children and in his spare time enjoys tinkering with old VWs, the Laxey Workingmen's Institute, jazz, and taking his 16-month-old grandson, Dexter, to Laxey beach.

Richard says: "The closure of the Mima enquiry approaches over the most important issue facing Garff, the Mooir Vannin wind Farm proposal, and I feel the only way to now represent our community is at the highest level within Tynwald."

We asked each candidate what their priorities would be if elected.

Richard chose stopping the Mooir Vannin application process until there's a full Tynwald and public debate, accountability, honesty and clarity from the very start of the next administration, and the best for Garff.
