Sean Bostrom

Sean is an independent candidate standing in the constituency of Garff.

This is his first time standing in a general election.

Sean's served as a firefighter for the past 28 years, and says he wants to continue serving and supporting the Island in a new way.

He has three grown up children and a schoondle called Dilly, who he says is small in stature but has a huge presence, and even her own Instagram account! (You're welcome.)

In his spare time, he enjoys motorcycling, walking, cycling, cooking and travelling, as well as watching performances at the Gaiety.

Sean says: "I plan to bring improvement to society and public services by building stronger bridges and improved communication between government departments and all relevant stakeholders.

"I believe we can all do better to improve what is already the best place to live.

“Going out of your way to assist someone, when the benefit to them is substantial compared to the relatively low cost or effort to you, can make a profound, positive difference. 

“While often viewed as a sacrifice, it strengthens connections, provides a sense of purpose, and can boost personal joy.”

We asked each candidate to tell us what their priorities would be if elected.

Sean chose providing incentives to keep Manx youth on the Island, financial support for childcare and improving public services including health, both physical and mental.
