Jane Poole-Wilson

Jane Poole-Wilson

Jane Poole-Wilson is an independent candidate and this is her first time standing in an election for the House of Keys.

She's currently a member of the Legislative Council after first being elected in 2017 and then re-elected in 2018.

She has two children and enjoys singing in a choir, walking and Pilates in her spare time.

She was born and raised on the Island before studying at the University of Oxford.

She's a non-practising solicitor and spent over 10 years working in London before moving back to the Island in 2005, where she's lived in Glen Vine ever since.

Jane says: “The Island faces a number of critical issues in the next administration and I seek the trust of Middle voters to represent them and to use my skills and experience to date to contribute to the future positive development of the Island for everyone.  I look forward to talking to the constituents of Middle over the coming weeks to discuss their questions and views.”

We asked each candidate to choose three priorities from the following issues or add their own:

Climate change, heritage, tourism, public transport, affordable housing, roads, mental health, education, falling birth rate, encouraging university students to return to the Island.

Jane decided to select her own, choosing improved access to physical and mental health services, a strong and diversified economy and climate change.

She added: "We also need a coherent housing policy and more skills and training opportunities, particularly for areas of recognised need."
