Title chasers go on the rampage

Big wins for St George's, Corinthians and Peel

The title chasers in the Canada Life Premier League all won convincingly at home on Saturday.

Reigning champions St George’s saw off bottom club Ramsey 8-2 at Glencruchery Road, courtesy of five from Ciaran McNulty and goals from Sean Quaye, Joe Quayle and Johnny Myers with his 75th top flight goal in Manx football.

Veteran Martin Torr and Wale Mohamed replied for Ramsey.

First half goals from Billy Kennaugh, Aaron Costain and Lee Gale put Peel well in charge at home to Braddan.

They eventually ran out 7-0 winners with Kennaugh completing his hat-trick, Gale adding his second and Johnny Shields also on the scoresheet.

It’s Corinthians who still head the table and they finished comfortable victors at home to strugglers Colby.

Dan Simpson set them on their way and Ryan Burns doubled the advantage before an own goal made it 3-0.

Stephen Whitley and Sean Doyle both netted second half hat-tricks to seal the rout.

In the other top flight match, Rushen edged out St Mary’s in an eight goal contest at Croit Lowey.

The Saints took the lead before the hosts levelled and they went in all square at the break.

However, Rushen always had the edge in the second half.

Nathan Halsall, Steven Priestnal and Karl Clark were on target for the Saints with Mikey Williams (two), Harry Best, Josh Kelly and Craig Murphy the other Rushen scorers as they ran out 5-3 winners.
