On Air Saturday Sandwich Simon Clarke & Kirree Kermode | 10:00am - Noon

The journey started 8 years ago - and ended this weekend at a wonderful new chapel and community hub in Port Erin - we have the full story here!

At Your Service - Manx Radio

Sunday, 11 August 2024 - 30 minutes

On today's programme we tell the story of the new Port Erin Methodist church - from plans that began 8 years ago, to the official opening ceremony yesterday morning.

It's next to - but separate from - the 1903 church building on Station Road, and incorporates the hall and Sunday Schoolrooms added to the 1903 church in 1973.

But what we have now is a beautiful chapel, a fine refurbished hall and other facilities that make this new development into a hub to be shared and be of benefit to the local community.

Contributors to the programme include Rev Dr Sean Turner, Mrs Judy Matthews, Mr Keith McArd, Mrs Muriel Nixon and Mrs Jean Karran.

The hymns are those used in the opening thanksgiving service.

And there's notice board news too - notice board items can be emailed - judithley@manxradio.com
