Advocate believes changes would adversely affect most vulnerable

Proposals for an Island Public Defender's Unit breaches human rights legislation.

The views of Island Legal Aid advocate Pamela Pringle.

The Managing Director of Pringle Law Ltd, says proposals announced by the Treasury now extends the remit of the PDU to include all legal aid work, both civil and criminal.

And she argues this creates a conflict of interest.

Mrs Pringle says this would adversely affect the Island's most vulnerable:
