Manx woman ready for US college scholarship

A Castletown woman says she can't wait to study at a university in the United States from September.

Twenty-one-year-old Cathy Breed will spend nine months at the Univeristy of Idaho thanks to the Ella Olesen Scholarship.

It's awarded in memory of a former registrar of the university who created the grant in honour of her Manx ancestry.

Cathy, who's currently in her final year of studying history at Cambridge, says she can't wait to get out there.
