Island abortion law can be better than in Britain

Dr Alex Allinson says updating Manx abortion law can help improve legislation in the UK.

The Ramsey MHK got Keys approval to introduce a private member's bill on the subject last month, and proposals are now being drafted.

Abortions are only allowed in certain circumstances in the Island - such as following a rape or due to mental health issues.

Dr Allison says he's taking advice from those who have drawn up laws elsewhere.
