Weekend football preview

Fixtures in Canada Life Premier League, JCK Division 2 and combi leagues

St Mary's will be aiming for back to back wins at the start of the Canada Life Premier League season when they host Old Boys this weekend.

The reigning champions sit at the top of the standings after thrashing newly-promoted Pulrose United last time out.

Pulrose face a trip to St George's, who made a winning start against Corinthians last week, while Peel welcome Marown.

The other game sees second-placed Laxey face Ramsey.

JCK Division 2 gets its fixture list underway this evening as St John's host Malew in a 7pm kickoff.

Colby, who sit at the top of the table thanks to a 14-1 thrashing of Governor's Athletic last weekend, travel to Onchan, who play their opening fixture of the season.

Governor's will look to bounce back from that defeat against another side who lost on the opening weekend of the season - they host Union Mills.

Elsewhere, Ayre United host Douglas & District, Braddan take on Ramsey Youth Centre and Foxdale visit Malew.

In Canada Life Combination One, Corinthians' game against Douglas Athletic has been called off due to the visitors being short of players.

The fixture between Pulrose and St George's is also a late scratch due to Pulrose withdrawing from Combi 1 this season.

Castletown host Rushen, league leaders Peel travel to Marown, Old Boys host St Mary's and Ramsey face Laxey.

In JCK Combination 2, Gymns will be looking for a second straight win when they face St John's, while Colby host Onchan, who will be in action for the first time this season.

Ayre United will be aiming to bounce back from defeat with a trip to Douglas & District, Foxdale host Malew, Ramsey Youth Centre play Braddan and Governor's Athletic go to Union Mills.
