Plans for 2025 Manx Rally to take place in April

'Substantially revised' stage route also proposed for next year

Next year's Manx Rally could take place a month earlier than in previous years under new plans.

Manx Auto Sport's proposals for the 2025 event would see it take place from Friday, 11 April to Saturday, 12 April and involve a 'substantially revised' stage route which would still cover around 130 miles on closed roads.

Having been held in early May in recent years, the organisation says the shift to April would be 'at the behest of the Isle of Man Government to slot the event into a crowded events calendar on Island.'

The competition would begin on the Friday afternoon (11 April) including a double run of the Pooil Vaaish section - there would then be an afternoon break followed by five evening stages which would include a 16-mile run in the St Mark's area and finish with a new-look Abbeylands phase.

Saturday (12 April) would start with a new version of the Glen Roy stage followed by a 12.6-mile stint from Druidale to The Baldwins.

Those will then be repeated before the weekend of racing finishes at the TT Grandstand in Douglas.

Furthermore, Manx Auto Sport adds work with the Department of Infrastructure to plan the event as well as the necessary road closures 'is moving ahead smoothly.'
