Peel crush Castletown in top flight

Westerners score eleven at Douglas Road

Peel remain top of the Canada Life Premier League thanks to an 11-0 thrashing of Castletown at Douglas Road.

Rhys Oates led the way with four of the goals as the westerners showed no sign of over celebrations after winning the Railway Cup on Boxing Day.

St. Mary's are still just a point behind the westerners with a game in hand thanks to an 8-0 thumping of Marown.

Karl Clarke, Craig Murphy and Sam Gelling all scored twice.

Rushen have fallen further behind the top two after being held 2-2 at Douglas Athletic.

Lee Ford scored twice for the home side with Alex Guy and a second half equaliser from Jamie Johnston.

And Champions St. George's are up to fourth in the table after a hard-earned 1-0 win over bottom side Laxey - Furo Davies with the second half winner.
