Hill wins IoM Billiards Championship

Humphries agonisingly close at home venue

Darryl Hill has added the 2018 Island Billiards Championship to his growing list of accolades, in an already-illustrious cuesports career.

But it wasn't all plain sailing for the twenty-one-year-old former snooker pro, who had to fight hard to keep Peel's Don Humphries at bay as they clashed at Peel Legion tonight (Wed 11).

Hill took an early lead in the first-to-300 match, before Humphries narrowed the gap to within ten points as the players each reached three figure scores.

Humphries pulled in front as the players passed 200, a break of 25 taking the scores to 208-202 in his favour.

But Hill refused to give up and took control of the final third of the fixture - the scoreline remained close, and when he came to the table leading 287 points to 282, he made no mistake, stringing together the final thirteen points he needed to cross the winning line.
