Manager hints at much-changed squad for Tuesday night clash

After being held to a late draw at the weekend, FC Isle of Man face another tough test in the NWCFL Premier Division this evening (10 September).

'The Ravens' are back on their travels later, this time at current league leaders Ramsbottom United.

FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones says people can expect a much-changed squad from the one which was involved in a 1-1 stalemate with Bury at The Bowl three days ago.

What's more he believes their opponents will be stronger than they were during last season:

The first two meetings between the sides last season were close-fought affairs.

The first encounter at tonight's venue saw Ramsbottom United emerge 2-1 winners on 2 August, 2023 before FC Isle of Man went on to win the reverse fixture at The Bowl - also by a 2-1 scoreline - on 23 March this year.

Since the previous campaign both have had contrasting starts to 2024/25 with Ramsbottom United the current benchmark at the top of the table on 28 points with seven wins from their 11 league outings.

They also go into Tuesday evening as the league's top scorers having netted 28 times to date.

Meanwhile, the visiting Manx side remain firmly rooted in mid-table with their current haul of 12 points from 10 games seeing them sit 14th with a chance to go as high as tenth with a win later which would also depend on points elsewhere.

Ramsbottom United vs FC Isle of Man takes place tonight at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium, kicking-off at 7.45pm.
